First-Year Student 2017 Pre-Orientation Program
Each year the Office of Multicultural Affairs hosts the pre-orientation (Pre-O) program for incoming American Multi-Racial, Latino-Hispanic, Asian, African, and Native American students.
Pre-O is designed to assist new multicultural students in their transition to the University of Richmond. This program complements the University's new student orientation program by presenting students with a preview of campus life.
Pre-O introduces first-year students to our diverse community and provides them with an opportunity to meet and interact with new and returning students who will serve as mentors. Faculty and administrators will present a series of activities and workshops that will assist students in establishing a network of peer connections and help them gain familiarity with important academic, social, and cultural supports.
Pre-O is held from Sunday, August 20, 2017, until Tuesday, August 22, 2017. It is followed by the General Orientation, which runs from Wednesday, August 23, 2017, to Friday, August 25, 2017.
As a Pre-O participant, your general expenses such as housing, room, and board will be covered by the University. There is no fee associated with the program. If selected for the program, you will receive an acceptance e-mail and/or letter within a couple of weeks of your application submission.
If admitted into the program, the Office of Multicultural Affairs will e-mail you with more information regarding location and related details.
